Some Sea Cadet Units have attached Royal Marine Cadet detachments. Martine Cadets can join after the age of 13. Whilst they share some lessons and sessions their general development differs in being much more ‘Infantry’ focussed with a greater emphasis on Campcraft, Weapons Training. The various ranks progress broadly in in parallel to the Sea Cadet ranks. It goes from Recruit to Marine Cadet 2nd Class to Marine Cadet 1st Class or Lance Coproral, to Corporal and then to Sergeant. Ranks progression is slightly different in being more proficiency based and there are also boards/courses for senior advancement. The ranks broadly track each other as follows
